Burak Yilmaz – ‘Hiddink knows us and we know Hiddink’ [divider]
Turkish international striker Burak Yılmaz underlined that the national team are as familiar with Guus Hiddink as he is with them.
The current Netherlands national team manager coached Turkey between 2010-12 but resigned after failing to qualify for Euro 2012.
Turkey will take on the Netherlands in Euro 2016 Group A on 28 March.
“Hiddink is our old manager, he knows us and we know him, we are under no illusions that this will be a tough game but we will try our hardest to get a good result,” Yılmaz told Sporx.
The Turkish international joined Galatasaray from Trabzonspor for €5 million in 2012.
Yılmaz finished his first season at Galatasaray as the leagues leading goalscorer for the second year in a row with 24 goals in 30 appearances.
The 29-year-old striker has scored 14 times in the Süper Lig, once in the Turkish cup and twice in the Champions League this season, the Turkish international has also provided five assists.
The Netherlands are currently third in Euro 2016 qualification Group A with six points from four games, while Turkey sit fourth with four points after four games.
