Galatasaray striker Burak Yılmaz has been left out of the squad ahead of the Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid.

The Lions are currently without a manager after sacking Hamza Hamzaoğlu last week despite the former Turkish national team head coach winning three trophies within six months.

Mustafa Denizli is expected to replace Hamzaoğlu but is unlikely to be officially appointed before the game against Atletico Madrid.

Galatasaray must beat Atleti and hope Benfica drop points to increase their chances of booking a place in the Champions League Last 16.

Former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski will also travel after an impressive few weeks scoring eight goals and one assist in all competitions this season.
