Yılmaz has battled with injuries since the new year but did score on the weekend in the Lions 3-2 win over Sivasspor to take his goal tally in the league to 13.

The 29-year-old joins Beşiktaş striker Demba Ba and Bursaspor forward Fernandao as the leagues leading goal scorer.

Yılmaz did however, have to be taken off on 76 minutes against Sivasspor but his injury is not believed to be serious.

The prolific striker has a total of 66 goals and 23 assists in 110 performances since joining on a £5 million move from Trabzonspor in 2012.

Galatasaray moved into 1st place in the league following the Sivasspor victory, overtaking Beşiktaş. However, rivals Fenerbahçe could go top if they beat Akhisar this evening.
