Calhanoglu a doubt for Bayer against Hoffenheim [divider]
Hakan Çalhanoğlu is a doubt for Bayer Leverkusen against Hoffenheim after falling ill with the flu according to manager Roger Schmidt.
“He is in a pretty bad way right now, I will decided whether he will be included in the squad for Wednesday’s game against Hoffenheim today,” Schmidt said.
Çalhanoğlu has featured in all 15 Bundesliga and all six Champions League games this season for Bayer.
Bayer are currently third in the Bundesliga on 24 points, Hoffenheim are in seventh position on 23 points.
Çalhanoğlu joined Bayer for €14.5 million this summer – the highest fee ever paid for a Turkish international.
The 20-year-old has scored 15 direct free kick goals over the the last two seasons.
Çalhanoğlu scored 11 times and provided five assists in his breakthrough season in the Bundesliga for HSV before joining Bayer.
The Bayer star already has seven goals and seven assists for Bayer this season.
