Liverpool legend Stevie Nicol has heaped praise on Emre Can for his role in the Red’s 4-1 victory over Manchester City.

The former Liverpool defender gave Can a score of nine out of ten and praised the 21-year-old’s work-rate.

“I got a nine (out of then) for Can,” Nicol told ESPN FC.

“Can, i thought done absolutely everything except score a goal.”

Can played a staring role in Liverpool’s 4-1 win over City in the Premier League on Saturday.

The former Bayern Munich man played in midfield and received a rating of 7.39 from Whoscored. Can made two key passes and maintained a passing accuracy of 69%.

The Red’s moved up to ninth place with 20 points in 13 games following the victory over the Citizens.

Klopp’s side take on Bordeaux in the Europa League tonight and host Swansea City at Anfield this weekend.

Can has scored one goal in 18 appearances for Liverpool this season.
