Celtic draw Ajax in Europa League A

The UEFA Europa League group stage draw took place today at Monaco at 12:00 GMT

Celtic were drawn from Pot 2 against Ajax, Fenerbahçe and Molde in Group A.

The Turkish giants will compete in the Europa League for the first time in two-years. The last time they were in the competition they went all the way to the semi-finals.

The Scottish giants qualified for the group stages after being knocked out in the Champions League play-off stage against Swedish side Malmo.

Turkish international Nadir Çiftçi will play for Celtic in the Europa League for the first time this season. Çiftçi joined Celtic from Dundee over the summer and is expected to feature in the competition.

Celtic won the Scottish championship last season and are the bookmakers favourites to lift the league trophy again.

The Scottish side will take on Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam in second place.
