Celtic FC's Efe Ambrose replaces Chelsea defender in Nigeria national team

Celtic FC defender Efe Ambrose has replaced Kasımpaşa defender Kenneth Omeruo in the Nigerian national team after the young defender picked up an injury in the 1-1 draw against Rizespor.

Omeruo joined Kasımpaşa on-loan from Chelsea over the summer transfer window and has established himself as a key member of the best performing defence in the Turkish Super League.

Kasımpaşa have kept three clean sheets and conceded just three times in six Turkish Super League games.

The 21-year-old defender will be out for two-weeks which makes him ineligible for the up and coming friendlies against DR Congo and Cameroon.

Omeruo has started in all six games for the Istanbul minnows but was unable to finish the weekend match and had to come off on 9 minutes.

The Kasımpaşa on-loan defender has been a regular feature in the Nigerian international defence despite his age. Omeruo was part of the Nigeria team in the World Cup last summer in Brazil.
