Beşiktaş striker Cenk Tosun has been nominated along with Fenerbahçe star Fernandao in the Europa League UEFA player of the week nomination.
Tosun was given the nod ahead of in form star striker Mario Gomez and did not make head coach Şenol Güneş regret his decision as he scored a brace that took Beşiktaş into first place in their group.
Fenerbahçe boss Vitor Pereira decided to start Fernandao ahead of Robin van Persie and the Brazilian striker did not disappoint scoring the opening goal to put the Yellow Canaries in a great position going into the final game. The Istanbul giants could book a place in the next round with a draw depending on the other results in Group A.
Liverpool striker Cristian Benteke who scored a stunning goal against Bordeaux is also up for nomination as is Sporting Lisbon star Fredy Montero, Partizan’s Abubakar Oumaru, Atletic Bilbao’s Aritz Aduriz, Schalke’s Leroy Sané and Fiorentina’s Federico Bernardeschi.
