Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho refused to rule out a January exit for Mohammed Salah but did reveal that he expects the Egyptian international to stay at the club over the transfer window.

Mourinho told reporters at his weekly press conference that he wants Salah to stay but accepted the possibility that he could leave when asked about the future of the 22-year-old winger.

“I cannot say that because the window is open but what can say I like them, I need them and I trust them,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

“I cannot select the same group of players every game I can only pick eleven players. Salah is not playing a lot, Schurrle more than him but they are players who have played for us in every competition.”

Salah will start for Chelsea in the FA Cup against Bradford.

Beşiktaş and Roma have been closely linked with the Egyptian international.

The 22-year-old has struggled to settle in at Stamford Bridge since an £11 million move from Basel last January and has only made a total of 13 Premier League appearances for the Blues.

Salah has a total of two goals and three assists in 18 appearances for the Blues and has been closely linked with a move away from Chelsea.

Beşiktaş are currently in second place, just one point behind league leaders Fenerbahçe.
