Chelsea give Fenerbahce green light to sign defender in January transfer

Chelsea have given Fenerbahce the green light to sign Ghana international Rahman Baba on a loan move in January.

Fanatik report that the Yellow Canaries made the Blues an enquiry regarding the availability of Rahman.

Per the source, the Istanbul giants want Baba on loan with a buyout clause option.

The powerful full-back spent last season on loan at Schalke but has failed to make a single appearance for Chelsea this season.

Fenerbahce have made strengthening their full-back positions a priority over the January window.

The Canaries have struggled defensively this season.

Fenerbahce have conceded the highest number of goals in the top seven this season – 16.

Despite starting the season as among the title favourites Fenerbahce are currently 7th in the league on 17 points after 11 games.

The 23-year-old would be expected to play for the Turkish giants over the second half of the season.

Rahman has 24 caps for Ghana since making his debut in 2014.
