Chelsea hero Frank Lampard has hailed Emre Can’s back-heel pass during Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Manchester City as the ‘best of the season’.

“This is the pass – or backheel – of the season,” Lampard stated live on SkySports 1.

Can’s pass split open City’s defense allowing Coutinho to lay off an easy goal for Roberto Firmino.

The Germany international played the full 90 minutes in Liverpool’s win over City. Can was included in the starting line-up despite enduring a difficult international week with the Germany national team.

The Reds were 3-0 up after just 32 minutes but were pegged back when Aguero scored from range shortly before the break. However, Martin Skrtel scored the final game of the game giving the visitors a 4-1 win.

Liverpool moved up to ninth place with 20 points in 13 games following yesterday’s victory. The Red’s take on Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday and host Swansea City at Anfield next weekend.
