Chelsea Legend Didier Drogba Will Be Offered Galatasaray Manager Job Depending On Election Results

Chelsea legend Didier Drogba will be among the names offered the Galatasaray managerial role if Mehmet Cengiz wins the presidential election.

Cengiz revealed that Drogba, Fatih Terim and Marco Bielsa are on his shortlist.

“We are a global brand, an industrial machine, we need a person of higher intelligence running the football team,” Cengiz said.

“That would be Fatih Terim, Didier Drogba, Marco Bielsa. 

“We will have talks with all of them and pick the right man for the job.”

Drogba did previously play for the Lions winning the 2013-14 league title.

The former Chelsea man also won the Turkish Cup and Turkish Super Cup, establishing himself as a cult figure among Galatasaray fans.

At the Blues Drogba won four Premier League titles and the first Champions League in the history of the club.

Drogba would take charge of his first managerial role if he were to end up taking the job.

The Galatasaray presidential elections will take place on 20 January.

Cengiz will be running against current club president Dursun Ozbek.

The winner of the election will serve a three-year term.

The Istanbul giants are currently second in the Super Lig, one point behind leaders Basaksehir but sacked Igor Tudor as manager.
