Chelsea & Man United send club official to Champions League clash for Arsenal target Oguzhan Ozyakup

Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup has attracted widespread interest after a brilliant two seasons.

Turkish newspaper Sabah reported that Chelsea and Manchester United were among the clubs that send a scout to the Champions League clash between Besiktas and Porto.

Per the source, the scouts kept tabs on Oguzhan Ozyakup, Tolgay Arslan and Cenk Tosun.

Ozyakup did not actually start but Arslan put on an impressive display in midfield for the Black Eagles.

Arslan completed the highest number of passes (69) over the course of the 90 minutes at an 87 percent accuracy. The 27-year-old worked hard defensively making five tackles and also contributed to attacking moves.

The former HSV star has also attracted interest from Tottenham.

Fotomac claim that Spurs made a €10 million offer for the midfielder but that Besiktas are demanding €12 million.

The 27-year-old made it clear that his priority right now is Besiktas and that he has no comment on his valuation.

“Leaving is not on my mind, I am focused on winning the league,” Arslan was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“I did not tell anyone I want to leave so I am not going to comment on how much I am now worth or my transfer fee.”

Arsenal meanwhile have been closely linked with Ozyakup.

The former Gunners academy player won the 2008 Youth FA Cup with the North London based outfit.

Ozyakup joined Besiktas five years ago and has gone onto become a star player playing a key role in his side winning the league title for the past two seasons.

The 24-year-old has under 12 months remaining on his contract and has yet to extend his current deal.

Besiktas made history becoming the first Turkish side to qualify from the group stage as leaders following the Porto draw.
