Chelsea send two club officials to Turkey for Man City wonder-kid target nicknamed the Turkish Donnarumma

Altinordu goalkeeper Berke Ozer has attracted widespread interest since breaking into the first team last season.

Chelsea have become the latest side to join the race for the 17-year-old keeper.

The Blues sent goalkeeping development coach Christophe Lollichon and loan player technical Eddie Newton to scout Ozer in person.

The Chelsea officials attended the Altinordu clash against Gazisehir Gaziantep at the Bornova Stadium.

Ozer started for Altinordu but the home side ended up losing the game 2-0.

Despite his young age the keeper has started Altinordu’s last three games.

Ozer has been nicknamed the Turkish Donnarumma after the AC Milan keeper who has achieved first team status as an 18-year-old.

Manchester City have also expressed an interest in Ozer.

Altinordu president Mehmet Ozkan recently confirmed City making an offer over the summer and revealed they will support Berke in his pursuit of Premier League football.

“We want him to play in Europe, if Berke has a great season the odds of him moving to the Premier League are high,” Ozkan said in Emre Sarigul’s latest article for the Guardian.

“Manchester City already made him an offer. We will see what the future holds.”

Berke was recently named in the Guardian Next Generation series, 60 best young talents in world football.
