Chelsea team news: On-loan Nigerian international expected to start against Turkish giants

Kenneth Omeruo

Newly promoted Alanyaspor have kicked their league campaign off to a decent start. After a 4-1 defeat against Besiktas on the opening day of the season the Mediterranean based outfit have managed to go two games without a loss.

On-loan Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo is expected to start for Alanyaspor and has started to establish himself as one of the most highly rated young defenders in the league.

It is also worth nothing that Omeruo only returned to first-team football last week which marked Alanyaspor’s only clean sheet of the season.

Omeruo spent last season on loan at fellow Super Lig outfit Kasimpasa and has closely linked with a move to Besiktas before extending this contract with Chelsea and failing to agree a buyout clause option with the reigning Turkish champions.

The Nigerian international defender is one of 26 Chelsea players out on loan – but the only player loaned to the Super Lig.

In other Chelsea team news David Luiz made his second debut in the 2-1 defeat against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge yesterday while Diego Costa scored his fifth goal in five games for the Blues.
