Chelsea transfer news: Turkish giants in talks with international defender, Blues and Liverpool also monitoring situation

Turkish Super League giants Trabzonspor have stepped up their interest in the Serbia international Neven Subotic.

According to the Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Chelsea and Liverpool are among five Premier League clubs chasing the experienced defender. The report goes onto state that the Blues are plotting to make a move for the Serbia international as the transfer deadline approaches.

Meanwhile, Fanatik claim that Trabzonspor are in talks with Subotic’s representatives. Per the source, the 28-year-old is now Trabzon’s primary target after failing to land Serdar Tasci from Spartak Moscow.

The Serbia international has dropped down the pecking order at Dortmund and spent last season out on loan at Koln.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has a close working relationship with Subotic. The Serbia international won two Bundesliga titles under the German tactical between 2010 and 2012.

Dortmund take on Freiburg in their next Bundesliga fixture on September 9.

Chelsea meanwhile take on Leicester City in their next fixture as they look to maintain their winning run.
