Conte gives former Juventus teammate green light to sign Chelsea midfielder, Turkish giants on verge of transfer

Antonio Conte has given Galatasaray the all clear to sign Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic according to reports in Turkey.

The Milliyet newspaper claim that Conte is prepared to let Pasalic join his former Juventus teammate Igor Tudor at Galatasaray.

Per the source, Conte and Tudor held talks, reaching an agreement over the Croatian midfielder.

The report claims that the Lions are on the verge of completing the transfer for a £2.2 million fee.

The Croatian international has 12 months remaining on his contract and has yet to be offered an extension.

Despite joining Chelsea in 2014, the midfielder has never actually played for the Premier League champions.

The 22-year-old has spent the last three seasons on loan, at Elche in Spain, Ligue 1 outfit Monaco and Serie A giants AC Milan.

Pasalic scored five times and provided one assist in 27 games for AC Milan last season.

Tudor has coached Pasalic before, during his time in charge of Hajduk Split.

Pasalic has two international caps and would be Tudor’s first Croatian signing if he were to join.

Galatasaray will compete in the Europa League next season after finishing the 2016-17 campaign in fourth place.
