Crystal Palace transfer news: De Boer sets sights on Netherlands international defender
Out of favour Fenerbahce right-back Gregory van der Wiel could be on his way to the Premier League this summer.
According to the Mirror, the Netherlands international is being targeted by his compatriot and Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer.
De Boer was appointed as Palace boss last month. The former Ajax man replaced Sam Allardyce who retired from management at the end of the 2016-17 season.
The Dutch manager has already signed Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek on a 12-month loan deal and look’s set to strengthen further before the end of the window.
Van der Wiel made the move to Fenerbahce from PSG last summer amid high expectations but has failed to settle in.
The Netherland’s international has three-years remaining on his current contract with Fenerbahce. However, the Istanbul Giants keen to offload Van der Wiel in a bid to free up their wage bill.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports have also linked Ajax defender Jairo Riedewald with a move to Palace.
