Crystal Palace willing to increase transfer offer to €7m for Galatasaray defender

Crystal Palace are willing to increase their transfer offer for Galatasaray full-back Lionel Carole to €7 million according to the Milliyet newspaper.

Turkish outlet Aksam, recently reported that Palace had agreed a €3.5 million fee for the French left-back.

Per the source, the Eagles are also close to agreeing personal terms with Carole.

The latest Milliyet report claims that Galatasaray increased his asking price and that Palace are prepared to play ball.

Galatasaray sporting director Cenk Ergun was quoted by Turkish-Football as confirming that a Premier League side made an offer for Carole in January as well but refused to name the club.

“We received an offer from the Premier League for Carole in January, let’s see,” Ergun said.

The French full-back joined the Istanbul giants on a €1.4 million move from Troyes back in July 2015.

The France u21 international has established himself in the Lion’s squad and has made 27 appearances this season.

Carole has been a star player for Galatasaray this season but the Istanbul giants could be forced to accept an offer that matches their valuation as they are under the watch of Financial Fair Play (FFP).

Galatasaray were suspended from European competition this season after breaching FFP rulings.
