Fenerbahçe midfielder Diego Ribas revealed that he joined the club because of the Yellow Canaries size and stature.

“Fenerbahçe is a huge club, this attracted me and the club officials convinced me with their project during the negotiation process,” Diego told the Fenerbahçe Newspaper February edition.

Fenerbahçe have won the Süper Lig title 19 times in their history, a record matched only by cross-city rivals Galatasaray.

The Yellow Canaries have an estimated fan base in the region of 15-20 million and are one of the most well supported clubs in Turkey.

Diego joined Fenerbahçe on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid in the summer.

The former Atleti play-maker was part of the side which won the Spanish League and reached the UEFA Champions League final last season.

The former Brazil international was struggling for playing time early in the season but has won the trust of manager Ismail Kartal and played in the Yellow Canaries last five league games.
