Diego Ribas staying at Fenerbahçe [divider]
Fenerbahçe midfielder Diego Ribas will be staying in Istanbul this January according to manager Ismail Kartal.
“It is easy to lose players, you can make up any reason to get rid of a player,” Kartal said.
“Diego is an important player for us who has the quality to play every single game. He was not ready at the start of the season that is the only reason he was not playing.
“When he did finally get his shot he ended up getting injured, he has been unlucky but I am sure he will get his chance again and he will not be leaving.”
Brazilian Serie A side São Paulo were reported to have offered Fenerbahce €6 million for Diego Ribas.
Diego has made ten league appearances however is yet to register an assist or goal for his new side.
The former Atletico Madrid play-maker was part of the Atletico Madrid side which won the Spanish League and reached the UEFA Champions League final last season.
