“I have not held any talks with Galatasaray, I have not been in negotiations with any other club, my contract is set to run out at the end of the season but I will discuss the matter with my club first,” Korkmaz told Turkish newspaper Fanatik.

Galatasaray were reported to have offered the experienced defender a two-year deal worth €1.5 million per-season according to Turkish newspaper Takvim.

Egemen has previously also played for rivals Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor.

The Turkish international defender would join Sergen Yalçın and Burak Yılmaz as the only players to have played for the Süper Lig’s big four (Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Trabzonspor).

Egemen played an important role in the Fenerbahçe side that won the Süper Lig title last season and was also part of the side that reached the UEFA Europa League semi-final in 2013.

The experienced defender has only made five appearances for the Yellow Canaries this season due to being ruled out with injury.
