Belözoğlu was called up for the Turkish national team by head coach Fatih Terim ahead of the Netherlands game.

Turkey held Netherlands to a 1-1 draw in the Euro 2016 Group A game at the Amsterdam Arena on Saturday 28 March.

Belözoğlu did not start or feature against the Dutch national side and was reported to have pulled out of the team during the pre-match warm up.

The Crescent-Stars will take on Luxembourg today in an international friendly.

Turkey are currently fourth in Group A on five points but would have taken over Netherlands and moved into third place with a win.

Belözoğlu has scored 27 times and provided 24 assists in 194 appearances for Fenerbahçe since joining from Newcastle United in 2008.

The Turkish international has won six Süper Lig titles, the UEFA Cup and two UEFA Super Cups.
