Emre Can 'believed' in Liverpool come-back even at 2-0 down

Liverpool team news Emre Can

Emre Can has told the Liverpool Echo that he and his teammates always believed that they could turn the tie around, even while 2-0 down.

The Red’s came back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Borussia Dortmund by a 4-3 scoreline, booking them a place in the semi finals of the Europa League.

“This is a big result and this is for everyone, it’s for the whole city,” Can told the Echo.

“Everyone believed we could do it, even at half-time. I am very proud to be a part of this team.”

Can played a starring role in his sides incredible comeback against German giants Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League quarter-final second-leg tie.

The Germany international provided the assist for Origi that kick started the Reds into action just after the half time break and won an impressive five tackles against Dortmund – the highest figure in the game.

Can is ruled out for Liverpool’s clash with Bournemouth this weekend in the Premier League due to a suspended.
