Emre Can has no regrets on choosing Liverpool over Bayern

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can

Emre Can has stated that he has no regrets on choosing Liverpool over the German Champions Bayern Munich, despite the Liverpool’s slow start to the season.

The Germany U21 international turned down to chance to join Bayern in the summer.

The Bundesliga champions had a buy-back clause in place but the young midfielder opted to move to Liverpool.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Can said “Any move is a risk.

“Nothing is guaranteed in football. I could have stayed at Bayer Leverkusen and eventually gone back to Bayern Munich.

“But at this stage Liverpool seemed the right thing to do.

“The manager was very important because I could see he believed in me straight away.”

Can moved to Liverpool on a £9.75m deal from Bayer Leverkusen this summer but missed much of the early part of the season with injury.

The young midfielder was born in German to Turkish parents and is eligible to represent Germany and Turkey at international level.
