Emre Can 'has no vision' says former Liverpool midfielder

The former Liverpool midfielder Jimmy Case criticised Jurgen Klopp’s decision to play Emre Can in midfielder during the Red’s match against Watford last weekend.

The Merseyside team were defeated by a 3-0 scoreline which saw them slip down to ninth place in the league.

Jimmy Case told the BBC that he cannot understand Can’s role in midfield and went on to question the players ability.

“I don’t understand what he does in the middle – he doesn’t dominate, he doesn’t pass well and he has no vision.” Jimmy Case BBC Radio 5 Live.

Can received a rating of just 6.38 from WhoScored for his performance on the night. The Liverpool midfielder made three tackles, one interception and two clearances. Can also made one key pass but was only able to maintain a passing accuracy of 75%.

Watford remained in seventh place after their win over Liverpool with 28 points in 17 matches. The Hornets have now won four games in a row and are just a point off the top four.

The Red’s take on the in-form Leicester City on Boxing Day. Emre Can has provided one assist and scored one goal in 24 appearances for Liverpool this season.
