Emre Can made most interceptions for Liverpool against Chelsea

Emre Can marked his return to Premier League football after missing the last few weeks out injured with a solid performance against Chelsea in central midfield.

The game ended in a 1-1 draw thanks to a last minute equaliser from Cristian Benteke who cancelled out Eden Hazard’s fabulous first half goal.

Can started in central midfield and worked hard defensively making the highest number of interceptions (4) and an impressive three tackles. The Germany international of Turkish origin also passed well making 67 passes and 85 percent helping his side keep possession.

The young midfielder also contributed in the final third making the second highest number of successful dribbles (2) with his driving forward runs. Can also took the joined highest number of shots on target (2).

The draw ensured that the Reds did not lose their final game of the season at Anfield. Liverpool take on West Brom next before the Europa League final against reigning champions Sevilla on 18 May 2016.
