Emre Can plays 90 minutes in defence for Liverpool

Emre Can played the full 90 minutes as part of a back-three in Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over Aston Villa in the Premier League.

The Germany international was moved out of midfield back into defence where he spent the majority of last season playing.

Can received a rating of 6.3 for his performance on the right side of a back three. The 21-year-old played alongside Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man made no tackles, four interceptions and three clearances thought the game.

The win was Liverpool’s first in four Premier League games take them up to seventh place in the table with 11 points.

Daniel Sturridge returned from injury for the home side to score a brace while James Milner scored the Red’s remaining goal.
