Emre Can reveals how he sacrificed himself for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool came from behind to beat Stoke City 2-1 yesterday at the Britannia stadium.
Germany international of Turkish origin Emre Can started his seventh consecutive game for the Reds.
Can revealed before the game that his form has improved over the past few weeks because he has been injury free.
The 23-year-old revealed that he sacrificed himself for the team and head coach Jurgen Klopp.
Can stated that he played on and did everything that the manager asked despite having a calf problem.
“For me, this season was a little bit difficult but the last few weeks, I feel better and I think you can see that on the pitch,” Can was quoted as saying to Sky Sports.
“I have struggled with a few injuries, I had calf problems that was a little bit more than everybody thought but I continue to play and as long as the manager wants me to, I want to as well. I am feeling very well. I’m at the top of my fitness in the games and I feel strong again.”
Can also revealed that he feels he has improved during his time at Liverpool and that he is happy at the Premier League giants.
“I think I did just well, I know I have a lot of improvements I can make but I would say I am happy with the three years.”
The 23-year-old will have 12 months remaining on his contract at the end of the season but has yet to sign a new deal.
Can has been involved in talks over a new contract but a deal has yet to be agreed.
The powerful midfielder has three goals and four assists in 34 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season.
