The Liverpool star provided the assist for Germany’s opening goal. Can played an exquisite pass through to Kevin Volland which split Denmark’s defence in half. Volland went on to put his side ahead with a well placed finish (watch the goal here).

Can received a rating of 7.74 from WhoScored. The Germany U21 international made one key pass, maintained a passing accuracy of 92.7% and made three successful tackles. The 21-year-old was substituted off the field in the 77th minute.

Volland doubled his sides lead in the 48th minute while Ginter made it 3-0 in the 53rd.

Germany U21 take on Czech Republic U21 in their final group game and know a draw will be enough to carry them though to the next round.

Can joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen as a central midfielder but soon found himself as a makeshift defender.

The Liverpool star made a total of 27 appearances for the Premier League outfit this season and also featured in the FA Cup and Europa League.
