Can signed for Liverpool from German side Bayer Leverkusen as a central midfielder but has played predominantly as a defender in Rodgers back-three this season.

The 21-year-has also featured as a centre-back in a back-four, central midfielder and played in a right-back role against West Brom on the weekend.

Can helped the Reds keep their 12 Premier League clean sheet in games he has played.

Liverpool failed to make up ground on fourth placed Manchester United following the draw.

The Reds are currently seven points behind fourth placed United but could close the gap to four points as they have a game in hand.
