Emre Can yet to start a game for Liverpool this season after being benched against Burnley

Liverpool star Emre Can has yet to start a game for the Reds since the end of last season after being left on the bench for the second consecutive week ahead of the Burnley clash.

Can has struggled for match fitness after returning to pre-season training later than most of his teammates after an extended break following Euro 2016.

The 22-year-old enjoyed trips to Turkey to meet family and the US before returning to team training.

Can made an appearance off the bench against Arsenal in the 4-3 victory at the Emirates last week and could make a second half appearance against Burnley today.

The Germany intentional of Turkish origin is expected to reach 100 percent match fitness over the next few weeks.
