Trabzonspor manager Ersun Yanal praised his side following their 3-0 win against Galatasaray but also urged for fans to not get too carried away.

“This is no magic and it’s too early to call this success,” Yanal said.

“We are a young and talented team and want to revive the Trabzon spirit; I congratulate my players for their devotion and fighting spirit.

“They performed even more than I had expected of them. Trabzonspor has embarked upon a very important mission in Turkish football.

“Trabzon is here, there, everywhere and fans should be singing and chanting as we continue our European adventure.”

Yanal guided Trabzonspor to their first win in Istanbul in 993 days.

The win was Yanal’s third victory over Cesare Prandelli. Yanal’s Gençlerbirliği defeated Prandelli’s Parma side twice in the UEFA cap back in 2004.

The former Turkish national team manager was in charge for his first game since taking over just before the international break.

Yanal lead Fenerbahçe to the Süper Lig title last season.
