Everton Agree £25m Deal on 4.5 Year Contract For Champions League Star, Medical Passed

Everton have beat off competition from several Premier League sides to agree a deal for Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun.

The Toffees have agreed a £25m deal with the Black Eagles to sign Tosun according to the Guardian.

Sources close to Besiktas have also confirmed to Turkish-Football that a deal has been struck with the striker set to sign a four-and-a-half year contract when the transfer window opens.

Tosun has passed his medical and will complete his move to the Premier League outfit in January.

The 26-year-old will become the only Turkish international player in top-flight English football.

Several Premier League sides including Crystal Palace, Chelsea and Newcastle United had also expressed an interest in Tosun.

Chelsea had also been scouting the forward according to Besiktas club secretary Ahmet Urkmezgil.

“We have no plans to sell Cenk Tosun, will this be the case in the future? that we don’t know, it may chance,” Cebi said.

“Our current stance is clear, we want Cenk to stay on.”

Despite being a Turkish international Tosun will not however, require a work permit.

The prolific forward was born in Germany and just like Mesut Ozil, Emre Can and Ilkay Gundogan he is also an ethnic Turk.

Tosun will become the most expensive Turkish international player to leave the Super Lig once the transfer goes ahead.

The previous record was broke over the summer transfer window when Roma snapped up Cengiz Under for £12 million.
