Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Besiktas playmaker Oguzhan Ozyakup.

Everton are the latest side to be linked with a move for Besiktas playmaker Oğuzhan Özyakup.

The star playmaker – who has been compared to Zinedine Zidane by former Turkey international Rıdvan Dilmen – has been linked with a move away from the Istanbul giants in recent weeks.

Özyakup has been dropped from Senol Gunes’ starting line-up for three weeks in a row, including Besiktas’ win over Porto in the UEFA Champions League,

The 25-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, meaning Besiktas may be forced into selling him in January if they can not strike a new deal.

According to the Turkish outlet Fotomac, Everton have been tracking Özyakup and that the Merseyside based club are readying an offer for the star midfielder.

Meanwhile, both Chelsea and Man United have also been linked with a move for their former player in January.

Turkish newspaper Sabah state that  the Premier League duo were among several clubs that send a scout to watch Ozyakup last week.
