Everton prepare bid for €10m Arsenal target, Toffees given green light to hold talks

Everton are preparing a bid for Besiktas star midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup according to reports in Turkey.

Fotomac claim that the Toffees made Besiktas an enquiry regarding his availability and requested a mandate to hold talks with his agent.

Per the source, the Black Eagles have given Everton the green to contact Ozyakup’s representatives.

Besiktas will name Everton their price if Ozyakup is open to joining the Premier League outfit.

The Toffees could face competition from Arsenal.

The Gunners are willing to pay €10 million for Ozyakup in a bid to replace Mesut Ozil according to the Aksam newspaper.

Ozyakup is no stranger to Arsenal having first made a name for himself rising through the youth ranks before joining Besiktas five-years ago.

The Turkish international has won back-to-back league titles over the past two seasons.

Besiktas are favourites to win the Super Lig again and are first in the Champions League Group G after four games.

Ozyakup has under 12 months remaining on his contract but has yet to reach an agreement over a new deal.

The 25-year-old midfielder has 27 goals and 44 assists for the Black Eagles in 195 games since joining the Istanbul giants.

Ozyakup would not require a work permit to play in England as he was born in the Netherlands.
