Everton & Sevilla join race for Turkish international midfielder

Everton and Sevilla are locked in a bidding war to sign Turkish international Mehmet Topal according to Fanatik.

The report claims that both clubs are keen on singing the Fenerbahce midfielder who is available on a free contract.

Fenerbahce are locked in talks trying to get Topal to sign an extension but he is considering his options.

Topal has of course played abroad before enjoying a two-season stint at La Liga outfit Valencia.

Sevilla would be able to offer Topal Champions League football but Everton would give Topal the chance of playing in the Premier League which he has yet to add to his resume.

Tottenham are also keen on the experienced midfielder. In fact Fanatik recently claimed that Spurs had an agreement-in-principle with Topal.

The 30-year-old’s agent Batur Altiparmak is however, remaining coy over the latest transfer rumour and refused to rule out the possibility that he may leave.

Altiparmak told Turkish-football.com“Everybody writes something different every other day so I am not going to respond to every transfer rumour.

“Let us wait until the end of the season and see what happens.”
