Everton star Lukaku reveals Trabzonspor full-back was like a ‘big brother’

Everton star striker Romelu Lukaku has been in fine form for the Toffees this season scoring 20 goals and providing five assists in 31 games this season.

Lukaku has however, revealed that he looked up to Trabzonspor full-back Jose Bosingwa and former star Florent Malouda during his time at Chelsea.

Former Galatasaray star Didier Drogba and Saloman Kalou and Nicolas Anelka were also among Lukaku’s brothers at Stamford Bridge prior to him joining Chelsea

“From day one, he [Didier Drogba], [Nicolas] Anelka, [Salomon] Kalou, [Jose] Bosingwa and [Florent] Malouda were like my big brothers,” Lukaku told Men In Blazers podcast.

Malouda and Bosingwa joined Trabzonspor last season but while the French international parted ways with the Black Sea Storm the Portuguese international remains at the club.

Bosingwa was been one of Trabzonspor’s most influential players last season until suffering an injury blow. The experienced full-back has only been able to make one appearance this season but is expected to feature more regularly as he recovers.

The Black Sea Storm have underperformed this season and are currently in 12th place in the Turkish Super League.
