Liverpool take on Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday 4 October looking to build upon last weeks 3-2 win over Aston Villa.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is expected to return to his three-back formation that served him well last season with Martin Skrtel, Sakho and Emre Can starting at the in defence.

Cristian Benteke will be back in the squad after missing the last three games with a hamstring injury and Sturridge has also recovered from his injury.

Everton have been in better form than their rivals of late but have only won once in their last 17 derby matches. The last time Liverpool lost at Goodison Park was back in 2010.
