The former Liverpool duo Javier Macherano and Luiz Suarez have heaped praise on their sides new signing Arda Turan.
Both Macherano and Suarez were asked about Turan by the Turkish TV channel TRT (via Hurriyet).
“Arda is a great person and is fun to be around. He is happy to be here and we will do all we can to make him feel comfortable,” Mascherano told TRT.
Luiz Suarez also praised the Turkish international stating, “Arda Turan is not only a star in Turkey, but is a star worldwide. Everybody know’s who Arda is.”
Barcelona’s Rakitic also spoke to TRT about Turan saying, “Arda is really happy to be here and as a team we are happy that he joined. I can’t wait until he can play with us in January.”
Turan recently celebrated Barcelona’s Super Cup win over fellow La Liga side Sevilla. The Turkish international was included in the 24 man squad but was unable to play due to the FIFA transfer ban restricting Barcelona from registering new signings until the turn of the year.
The Turkish international joined Barcelona on a £24 million transfer from Atletico Madrid but will be unable to play until at least January.
Turan provided six assists and scored three goals in 46 appearances for Atletico Madrid last season.
