Ex Liverpool star Luis Garcia takes over as Samuel Eto’o’s manager at Antalyaspor

Antalyaspor have appointed former Liverpool and Barcelona winger Luis Garcia as manager according to Fanatik.

Garcia was part of the Liverpool side that won the 2005 Champions League in Istanbul and the 2005 UEFA Super Cup.

The former Spanish international has also played for Barcelona and Atletico Madrid as a player.

The former Liverpool man will take charge of his first managerial position at Antalyaspor.

Antalyaspor have been in the hunt for a manager to replace Yusuf Şimşek who was sacked following a six game winless streak last week.

The Scorpions are currently managed by Samuel Eto’o who replaced Yusuf Şimşek as caretaker manager.

The newly promoted side have embarked on an ambitious transfer policy since entering top-flight football signing Eto’o and almost reaching an agreement for Ronaldinho and Manchester United keeper Victor Valdez.

Antalyaspor also recently opened their new 32,000 seater state of the art stadium which they now call home.
