Turkish national team manager Fatih Terim has revealed that Arda Turan is the star of his side and that he will be counting on him to inspire the Crescent-Stars in the European Championships this summer.

“Arda Turan is the star of the team, he is a great player and a great guy. We want him to perform to his highest level this summer and take us to the next level,” Terim told reporters at his most recent press conference.

Turan has three goals and six assists in his last nine international caps for Turkey and played a key role in the Crescent-Stars booking a place in the European Championships.

The Barcelona star was part of the Turkish national team side that made it to the semi-finals of the 2008 European Championships again under the stewardship of Terim.

Turan is almost certain to make Terim’s squad for Euro 2016 in France this summer after an impressive start to his Barcelona career.

The bearded winger has three assists and one goal in all competitions for his new side and Barca have won all 14 games he has played in.
