Fatih Terim to give Stoke City youth Yusuf Coban Turkish national team call up [divider]
Turkish national team manager Fatih Terim has invited Stoke City youth player Yusuf Çoban to represent the Crescent-Stars according to Sporx.
The 18-year-old striker was born in Germany but is of Turkish origin, making him eligible to represent Turkey at international level.
Yusuf joined Stoke from Germany back in 2012 but has yet to make an appearance for the senior team.
The Turkish national team has several players born outside of Turkey.
Some of Turkish footballs biggest stars were not actually born in Turkey. Hakan Çalhanoğlu, Kaan Ayhan, Emre Can, Nuri Şahin are just a few examples of Turkish players born in Germany.
There are an estimated 10 million Turks in Europe with the largest concentration being in Germany.
Turkey are 4th in Group A after picking up just four points after four games. The Crescent-Stars beat Kazakhstan 3-1 to record their first win of the qualification campaign.
Turkey face Netherlands next on Match Day 5 on 28 March 2015.
