Turkey’s national team manager Fatih Terim wants Bursaspor’s Brazilian striker Fernandao to play for the Turkish national team according to the newspaper Takvim.

Terim wants the TFF to accelerate the powerful striker’s application to become a Turkish citizen.

The report goes onto state that Fernandao is interested in playing for the Turkish national team. If Fernandao does play for Turkey, he will become the second Turkish national after Marco Aurelio to play for Turkey.

The 27-year-old striker now has 12 Süper Lig goals this season. Only Trabzonspor striker Oscar Cardozo has scored as many goals.

Beşiktaş striker Demba Ba trails with 10 league goals.

Fernandao joined Bursaspor on loan from Atlético-PR and has a total of 13 goals and one assist in all competitions for the Green Crocodiles this season.

Bursaspor have scored the most goals in the league this season – 36.
