Fenerbahçe manager Ismail Kartal revealed that he is pleased to have Senegal international Moussa Sow back but disappointed that his African Cup of Nations tournament came to an end so quickly.

Senegal were sent crashing out of the competition following a 2-0 loss against Algeria.

“It is great for us to have him back but obviously it must be disappointing for Moussa, I just hope he is healthy and fit because we do need him,” Kartal said following the 1-1 draw against Kayserispor in the Turkish Cup.

Fenerbahçe remain in first place following the draw against Kayserispor but lead on goal difference.

The Yellow Canaries still need another win to secure a place in the next round.

Sow scored the winner in Senegal’s 2-1 win over Ghana but it was not enough to prevent a first round exit.

The 29-year-old has six goals and two assists for Fenerbahçe in all competitions this season.

The Fenerbahçe striker has 12 goals in 36 international caps for Senegal.
