Fenerbahce defender Bruno Alves not for sale [divider]
Fenerbahçe have released a statement confirming that defender Bruno Alves will not be leaving in January.
The statement read: “The rumours linking Bruno Alves with a transfer abroad are false. Hürriyet newspaper published a report today claiming that Bruno had agreed with another club. These rumours are all false, Bruno has a contract with Fenerbahçe football club and wants to remain at the club.”
The experienced defender had been left out of Fenerbahçe’s team following the red card he received during the Intercontinental Derby against Galatasaray.
Alves fell out with Fenerbahçe manager İsmail Kartal following the derby and had been training with the reserves.
However, the Portuguese international and Kartal have now made up and Alves has been promoted back to the senior team.
The 32-year-old defender currently earns €2.3 million per season and has two-years left on his contract.
