Fenerbahce manager İsmail Kartal admitted he was disappointed with the referee despite beating Rizespor 2-1 at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium.

“We won an important derby last week and performed well against this week against Rizespor,” Kartal said after the game.

“We dominated the game from start to end and could have won by a bigger margin.

“There were three penalties in the game, the referee only gave us one, that really disappointed me.

“They gave us a seminar at the start of the season, I didn’t make up these rules, they told us what constitutes and doesn’t constitute a penalty.

“It is unfortunate I have to bring this up.”

Kartal also praised the performance of his team despite having a number of missing players.

“We had a lot of injured players going into the game,” Kartal said.

“We are coping well despite the injury problems we are faced with and have to if we are to become champions.

“I want to thank my players for their performances today.”

Fenerbahçe remained in first position following the win, the Yellow Canaries have won all five games played at home this season. The Süper Lig champions have the best home record in the league this season.
