Fenerbahce plot move for £13m Sunderland star Jeremain Lens

Fenerbahce are set to table an offer to Sunderland for their Netherlands international star Jeremain Lens.

The daily Turkish sports paper Fanatik states that Fenerbahce are looking to do their summer business as early as possible. Per the source, Fenerbahce will make two offers to Sunderland.

One offer will be to buy Lens on a permanent deal however, the fee is understood to be significantly below Sunderland’s asking price. Fenerbahce will also table a ‘back-up’ loan-bid for the former PSV star.

Meanwhile, SporX have reported that Sunderland are holding out for £13m for Lens.

Lens has been a huge hit at Fenerbahce since joining on loan from Sunderland last summer. The 29-year-old has provided 13 assists and scored four goals in 26 apperances so far this season.

Sunderland may be forced into selling Lens at the end of the season if they are relegated from the Premier League. David Moyes’ side are currently at the foot of the table and are seven points from safety.

The Black Cats take on Watford FC – in what looks to be a must win game – this weekend.
