Fenerbahçe president Aziz Yıldırım has demanded that Passolig compensate the club for loss of earnings.

“Last season at this stage we had an income of 40 million from match days, this season that figure has dropped by half,” Yıldırım said.

“Last season we sold 32,000 season tickets, this season it is 20,000.

“They say the reason is Passolig so I want compensation for the situation they have caused.”

Crowd attendances have drastically decreased following the implementation of the Passolig e-ticketing system.

“Passolig must compensate us for the losses,” Yıldırım said.

“We pay our taxes, pay insurance and keep our side of the bargain but are suffering because this company is keeping fans away.”

The Passolig system is currently being taken to court by a non governmental organization named Supporter Rights Solidarity Center (Taraf-Der).

Taraf-Der are campaigning for the Passolig to be disbanded on grounds that the e-ticketing system violates the constitution and the European Convention on Human Rights.

Each Passolig card sold automatically results in a credit card and bank account being opened at Aktif Bank.

The company issuing the cards can sell private data to third parties and charge a bank commission on every sale.
