Fenerbahçe board member Mahmut Uslu revealed that the club currently train 17,000 students at their sports academies and plan to increase this figure to 70,000.

“We currently train 17,000 students at our sports academies but we aim to increase this number to 70,000,” Uslu said.

“We fund these academies ourselves and have already began the process of growing our network.

“The club aims to not only benefit Fenerbahçe with this project but the entire country.

“We have a football academy in Kayseri but will have basketball and volleyball academies here soon as well.”

Uslu also underlined that he expects Fenerbahçe to win their next three games and finish 2014 as Süper Lig leaders.

“We want to win the next three games and finish the year as leaders, it is where we deserve to be, we are the strongest title challengers this season,” Uslu said.

Fenerbahçe are currently third in the Süper Lig with 27 points from 13 games.
